After four days of trial and a day and a half of deliberations, Senior partner Bill Brittain received a defense verdict on behalf of his client, a local diesel mechanic shop, in a products liability case in Russell County, Alabama. The allegations against the defendant were that they were guilty of negligent and wanton conduct in the repair of a braking system on a diesel dump truck. Approximately two weeks after the repair, the brakes failed on a steep hill and the plaintiff (decedent) jumped out of the truck which ran over him and caused his death.
