Ball Ball Welcomes New Associate Tripp DeMoss



Ball, Ball, Matthews & Novak is pleased to welcome Robert L. “Tripp” DeMoss III as a new Associate to the firm's Montgomery office.


Prior to joining the firm, Tripp served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge R. Austin Huffaker, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. Tripp previously served as an associate counsel for a prominent Alabama trade association, a legislative officer in the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, and as a legislative aide and counsel in the U.S. House of Representatives. Tripp has also clerked in the counsel’s office of several political organizations in Washington, D.C., and for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

Tripp is a summa cum laude graduate of the Honors College at the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Tripp is dedicated to his hometown of Montgomery and is active in his community, serving as a board member of the King’s Canvas and as a member of the YMCA Boys Work Committee. Tripp's wife Kate, a native of Dallas, Texas, is a policy advisor for the World Bank Group. They have two children, Beau and Hattie, and are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery.

He practices in the areas of litigation and education/employment law, and also represents business organizations and associations.
