Biography
Joe Wiley Mitchell is an Associate in the Montgomery office specializing in residential and commercial real estate transactions, title and property litigation, estate planning, probate administration, business formations and representation, and litigation.
A significant part of Joe Wiley’s practice involves real estate transactions, where he enjoys meeting friends, first-time homeowners, seasoned investors, or business owners at the closing table. Recognizing that a successful closing is the culmination of teamwork, Joe Wiley is thankful to have the support of an experienced team and is grateful to partner with realtors, mortgage lenders, and other professionals to ensure every transaction is as seamless as possible.
Aside from real estate closings, Joe Wiley regularly prepares wills and represents family members in probating estates. He also frequently represents clients involved in litigation to cure title defects.
Joe Wiley graduated from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, where he was chosen to be a member of the Student Bar Association and Board of Advocates. He is also a graduate of Auburn University. While at Auburn, he was selected to intern with Congressman Robert B. Aderholt in Washington, D.C., and the former Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries, John McMillan. He also spent a summer clerking at the Alabama Attorney General’s office.
When not practicing law, Joe Wiley enjoys cheering on Auburn sports teams and attending games with his wife, Shelby.
