Holbrook “Brooke” Emfinger Reid joined Ball, Ball, Matthews & Novak in 2006 and is a Partner in the firm. She is a native of Bullock County, Alabama where her father served as District Judge for many years and her grandfather was a General Surgeon.

Mrs. Reid graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Birmingham Southern College in 2003 and subsequently obtained her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2006.

Mrs. Reid represents clients in a wide-range of civil defense matters, including motor vehicle/trucking, workers’ compensation, healthcare, construction, wrongful death, premises liability, contractual disputes, and collection actions. She has successfully handled and tried cases in venues throughout the State of Alabama. Mrs. Reid also served as a former prosecutor for the City of Montgomery where she prosecuted City Code and state law violations in the City Municipal Court.

Mrs. Reid is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Alabama. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association, and Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. She served on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association from 2010-2013 and as President of the Young Lawyers Section from 2013-2014.

She is married to Phelps Reid of Montgomery, Alabama and has two children, Phelps, Jr. and Alice. She is a member of the Church of the Ascension and volunteers as a tutor for New Beginnings Resource Center.
