Holbrook “Brooke” Emfinger Reid joined Ball, Ball, Matthews & Novak in 2006 and is a Partner in the firm. Mrs. Reid graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Birmingham Southern College in 2003 and subsequently obtained her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2006.

Mrs. Reid actively represents clients in a wide range of business and employment matters, including pre-dispute employment issues. Her practice includes advising, consulting, and defending employers against claims or matters involving the 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th, 11th, and 14th Amendments to the United States Constitution, matters involving Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Section 1983, and Section 1981, as well as FMLA, co-employment issues and FLSA. Her practice also consists of defending employers against EEOC charges of discrimination. Additionally, Mrs. Reid represents clients in matters involving motor vehicle/trucking, workers’ compensation, healthcare, construction, wrongful death, and premises liability. Mrs. Reid has successfully litigated cases in venues throughout the State of Alabama in both Federal and State courts. She also previously served as a prosecutor for the City of Montgomery, where she prosecuted City Code and state law violations in the City Municipal Court.

Mrs. Reid is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Alabama. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association, and Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. She served on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association from 2010-2013 and as President of the Young Lawyers Section from 2013-2014.

She is married to Phelps Reid of Montgomery, Alabama and has two children, Phelps, Jr. and Alice. She is a member of the Church of the Ascension and volunteers as a tutor for New Beginnings Resource Center.
