Originally from Ashville, Alabama, Mr. Swann is a partner in the Montgomery office who practices in the areas of Construction Litigation, Products Liability, serious personal injury and wrongful death. He has represented both commercial and residential contractors in disputes over construction quality and job site injuries. Additionally, personal injury claims arising out of the use of products in both the private sector and industrial settings have been a large focus of his practice. With over 25 years of litigation experience, he has taken numerous cases to verdict and/or arbitration decision.
Mr. Swann is an AV rated lawyer admitted in all state and federal courts in the State of Alabama and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (ADLA), Defense Research Institute, the Alabama State Bar and the Montgomery County Bar Association. A past member of the Board of Directors of ADLA, as well as its Young Lawyers Section, Mr. Swann serves on the faculty of ADLA’s Deposition Boot Camp, which is held each spring to mentor young lawyers. He has been honored by Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) with its Partnership in Excellence Award, completed the OSHA Work Place Safety training course, holds an Alabama Home Builders Graduate Associate certification, and is a member of the Montgomery Section of the Alabama Association of General Contractors.
Mr. Swann is a 1983 graduate of the University of Alabama and 1986 graduate of Samford University Cumberland School of Law. As an undergraduate from 1979-1983, he was a member of the Alabama football team and is a member of Alabama’s A Club.
Mr. Swann has been active in numerous community projects, including the Montgomery Ballet Board, Dixie Youth Baseball, 2011 Tuscaloosa Tornado Relief, the Jimmy Hitchcock Award Committee, United Way, and has served as Chairperson of the POA Athletic Committee. He and his wife Denise have two children, Tripp and Laura Helen, and attend the First Baptist Church of Montgomery. Away from the office he enjoys travel, golf, outdoor activities, Samford baseball and Alabama football.
