August 2005 - Lowndes County Jury Returns Defendant's Verdict After hearing three days of testimony, a Lowndes County Jury returned a Defendant's Verdict, over the Plaintiff's request for $500,000. The Plaintiff claimed that she was permanently injured after being attacked by the Defendant's horse. The Plaintiff was attempting to breed her stallion to the Defendant's mare when the mare attacked her. The Plaintiff claimed that the Defendant was responsible for the attack because the Defendant knew her mare had the tendency to attack people. The Defendant denied that the horse was prone to attack people, and argued that the Plaintiff was injured because she used improper breeding techniques, which caused the mare to react adversely. At the close of the case, the Plaintiff asked the jury to return a verdict in the amount of $500,000. The Defendant was represented by Bill Brittain and Evans Brittain.
